The Junior Open Competition is open to all junior golfers who are under the age of 19 on 31/12/2054.
* 18 Hole Stroke Play maximum handicap allowance: Boys - 36 Girls - 45.
There is also a Daily Telegraph qualifying competition and this is open to all junior golfers who are under the age of 18 on 01/01/2025.
* 18 Hole Stroke Play maximum handicap allowance: Boys - 28 Girls - 36
Cleethorpes Golf Club has a thriving junior section which is under the expert guidance and tuition of qualified PGA professionals, Paul Davies and Darryl Frame.
Paul and Darryl run individual coaching sessions as well as regular group coaching for boys, girls and mixed sex groups which are fully supervised at all times.
Cleethorpes Golf Club has a strong and growing junior section, led by our qualified PGA professionals Paul Davies and Darryl Frame. With over 60 juniors currently involved - an even mix of boys and girls - there are opportunities for players of all abilities to get involved, develop their skills and enjoy competitive golf.
Coaching and Support
Coaching is offered in both individual and group formats. All sessions are fully supervised.
* Girls-only coaching is held on Sundays from 2pm to 3pm.
* Mixed junior coaching follows on Sundays from 3pm to 4pm.
* Thursday evening coaching with Paul runs from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.
Competitive Opportunities
We run a full competition schedule, with three formats:
* 6-hole events
* 9-hole events
* 18-hole events
Trophies and prizes are awarded in all categories.
Juniors also have the chance to represent the club in team competitions:
* Two GolfSixes teams (mixed and girls), playing six short holes against other clubs.
* Boys’ and girls’ teams in the GolfNines League, playing nine holes on a measured course.
* A team competing in the Junior Development League, playing 18 holes against other clubs.
Kit and Belonging
All junior members can get a club hoodie and polo shirt for £21 in total, helping build team spirit and a sense of pride in representing Cleethorpes Golf Club.
GolfMark Status
At Cleethorpes Golf Club we are proud to hold the prestigious GolfMark status and as a qualifying club we are recognised by Golf England as a Club Mark facility - the national standard for quality sports clubs.
GolfMark is a national scheme run by England Golf, in association with Sport England. The scheme identifies and recognises junior and beginner friendly golf facilities and assesses three key areas within the golf club
1. Coaching and playing
2. Club Environment [including sports equity & ethics
3. Child protection and Duty of Care
Independent assessors believe the club offers everyone in the community interested in golf, whether adults or juniors;
